On the bright morning of March 9, 2024, at 7:30 am, the General Baptist Bible College (GBBC), for the very first time, stepped into the limelight, joining the Federation of Parent Teachers Association (FPTA) Region XI Sports Fest ’24 with a burst of energy and enthusiasm.
Led by the spirited Mr. and Mrs. Frankly Enoc, proudly waving the GBBC banner, the opening parade set the tone for a day of excitement and camaraderie. As the sun cast its warm glow, Ms. Mari Banluta, Secretary of FPTA XI 2024, offered a heartfelt opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, echoing the spirit of unity and patriotism.
Mr. General Franco, President of FPTA XI 2023, graced the stage with inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of fitness and health within the fabric of family life. The San Pedro College (SPC) Singers then dazzled the audience with their talents, infusing the air with melodies that resonated with the collective spirit of the event.
A pivotal moment arrived as the FPTA Executive Committee was introduced, inducted, and sworn in under the watchful eye of Sr. Josefa E. Dumapias, OP, Vice-President, and Principal of San Pedro College – Ulas Campus. This solemn ceremony affirmed the committee’s dedication to upholding the values of the FPTA and serving the community with integrity.
Ms. Pinky Columbres, Business Manager of FPTA XI 2024, shed light on the meticulous planning behind the Sports Fest 2024 Committee, while Mr. Gilber Goc-ong, Vice President for Davao City FPTA XI 2024, administered the oath of sportsmanship, underscoring the importance of fair play and mutual respect.
In closing, Jhun Sacal, Vice President for Davao Del Norte, FPTA XI 2024, expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers for their dedication and cooperation. With the president’s declaration, the games and activities were officially declared open, heralding the start of a day filled with friendly competition and shared camaraderie.
As the echoes of cheers and laughter filled the air, the GBBC community, as a first-time participant, eagerly embraced the opportunity to partake in the Sports Fest ’24, forging bonds with neighboring schools and championing the values of sportsmanship and unity.
