General Baptist Bible College (GBBC) joined forces with Vibal Publishing, a leading advocate for literacy and education, to host a vibrant celebration in honor of International Children’s Book Day on April 2, 2024. The event, held at the GBBC campus, aimed to instill a love for reading and storytelling among young learners.
The day kicked off with an engaging storytelling session led by Ate Malet and her crew, captivating children with the adventurous tale of “The Ambitious Jar” (Ambisyosang Banga). Through colorful characters and valuable life lessons, the story encouraged children to dream big and pursue their aspirations.
Following the storytelling, children enthusiastically participated in a coloring activity inspired by the characters and themes from the story. Their creativity flourished as they brought the story to life through vibrant colors and imaginative designs.
Parents had the opportunity to learn about the importance of reading to their children during a special session led by experts from Vibal. They gained valuable insights into the developmental benefits of reading aloud, fostering a deeper appreciation for literacy within the family.
As a token of appreciation, each child received a complimentary storybook from Vibal, allowing them to continue their reading adventures at home. The gesture was met with heartfelt gratitude from both children and parents, highlighting the impact of literature on young minds.
The festivities concluded with a lively photo session, where families captured cherished memories of the day’s activities. Laughter and joy filled the air as children posed with their favorite storybook characters and celebrated the magic of storytelling together.
By partnering with Vibal to celebrate International Children’s Book Day, GBBC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting literacy and nurturing young readers. Through engaging activities and meaningful experiences, the event inspired a lifelong love for books and learning among children and families alike.
